Imphepho (South African Sage)

Imphepho, also known as kooigoed, is a traditional herb found only in South Africa. In its ritual use in South Africa, Imphepho is believed to invoke and placate the ancestors and to drive away malicious spirits – regarded as common causes of illness in African Traditional Medicine. It is not surprising that Imphepho features highly in this traditional medical field. A great deal of scientific and anecdotal evidence seems to support the claims of traditional healers. Root of David

(Cissampelos capensis) Cissampelos Capensis, commonly known by the Afrikaans name “dawidjies” or “dawidjieswortel”, is the most important and best known medicinal plant of the family Menispermaceae used by the Khoisan and other rural people in the western region of South Africa.
