Dragon’s Blood and White Sage Smudge marries the two powerful traditions of the Americas: the Condor of the south and the Eagle of the north.
Potentize your spiritual cleansing and protection rituals with this special smudge that combines the energetic properties of White Sage and Dragon’s Blood – plants sacred in North and South American healing traditions.
White Sage (Salvia apiana) is native to southern California and northern Mexico, where indigenous communities have used it for generations as medicine for relieving anxiety, pains associated with menstruation and pregnancy. It is more commonly known for its properties as an aide for cleansing, purifying and praying in spiritual ceremonies. White Sage was so important in Native American traditions in the north that they were banned from using it until 1978. Indigenous communities now use it sparingly to avoid overharvesting. Many avoid lighting it with a lighter, because it is believed that the butane in lighter fluid suppresses its medicinal properties, preferring instead to use matches. Our White Sage is ethically sourced from sustainable growers.
Dragon’s Blood hails from South America, where it is used medicinally for its powerful skin healing properties and to assist in gastrointestinal health. It is also used as an ally in healing ceremonies. It is believed to offer spiritual protection, correct spiritual imbalances and to promote a deeper connection to the realms of spirit. Energetically, it is linked to the sacral chakra which governs creativity, sexuality and emotional balance. It has a strong connection to the element of fire, and its ability to transform and potentise ceremonial practices, and amplify the effects of other elements and herbs it is combined with.
Together, Dragon’s Blood and White Sage compliment and fortify their respective healing attributes, and promise a powerful combination when used in spiritual practices.
